Chlorine
In accordance with rules from the Utah Division of Drinking Water and the Safe Drinking Water Act, Granger-Hunter is required to maintain a chlorine residual in our distribution system. Chlorine is used to kill bacteria, and by maintaining a residual throughout the system can reduce the possibility of these bacteria growing on pipe walls. Granger-Hunter takes 100 samples per month to ensure no bacteria is present in the system and to ensure an adequate chlorine residual is maintained per Utah Administrative Code R309-200.
